Hello, and welcome to Indira’s Inner Beauty!
My name is Indira, and I am so glad that you are here!
A little bit about me:
I am 20 years old, and a junior studying advertising at the University of Illinois (hail to the orange!). I was born and raised in East Lansing, Michigan, USA by a Spanish mother and Indian father, traveling around the world since before I could walk. My heart definitely belongs in a big city. I grew up speaking both Spanish and English fluently at home, and I’ve always been really talkative and expressive – both when in my own culture, and when exposed to another.
I like to describe myself as artsy; I write poetry, I’m obsessed with street art, I know all the lyrics to way too many songs, and I have six plants in my apartment all of whom have names. I strongly believe in the power of diversity in combination with empathy. I’m a hugger, and a big believer in the healing power of all types of cookies. That wasn’t “a little bit,” but we’re just going to roll with it.
So, this is what I’m here for.
Indira’s Inner Beauty is a place for the overcomer, the doer, and the unique soul. I’m here to talk about the struggle, the search for resilience, and – you guessed it – the overcoming. This blog is a place where I hope to help you find your own resilience while I continue to find and develop mine.
The goal here is to positively change the world through helping others find their inner beauty, uniqueness, and resilience. I firmly believe that can happen through the sharing of personal narratives and thoughts.
All poetic life missions aside, I’m just a 20-year-old girl in college who is ultimately trying to live her best life. I’ll also be writing about the music I like, the makeup I use, the clothes I wear, the places I travel, and all of that fun stuff. I’m an intense gal when it comes to creating change, but I also like to think I know how to have a good time.
I really hope you stick around and become a part of the IIB community; we’re delighted to have you!
With much love,
